Need buying advice

Hi

I am upgrading my PC including the Graphics card.
I expect to have approx 1.3mhz athlon chip pcu with 512mb ram and a fairly decent Mobo.

I currently have a geforce 2'but want to get a much better Graphics card.

I quite fancy a GF3'but am open to other suggestions.
Can anyone give me advice ?
I will post a list of the available cards to me.
My budegt is up to £230'but would rather not spend that much if i don't need to and a lower priced card can do the job.

There are several GF3'S on the list'but i don't know the difference.

U dont half list a lot of cards...
Best ones at the mo I my mind are

GF4
Radeon 8500
GF3Ti 500
GF3Ti 200
GF2 Ultra
GF2Ti
Radeon 7500
Gf2 Pro
Kyro2
GF2

Dont bother with TnTs or Radeon VE, these are quite likely equal to or worse than UR current GF2...
Radeon 7000/7200 are new name for original Radeon, 7500 is Radeon edition 2, 8500LE is a slower version of the full-blooded 8500 (lower memory speed & core Mhz)

I would say A Gf2 Ti for £80 would be a V. Good budget buy, a GF3 Ti200 or Radeon 8500 if U got the money, Ti500 2 expensive (unless U need Q3 @200Fps...)

PS IF U R in UK, goto dabs.com, good prices there as well

If ur planning to go for a 1,3G or more you could consider going for the KyroII. This cart isnt too good but slower CPU's but work well with fst CPU's! When money doesnt matter Go with the Radeon 8500, that one really kicks ass. KyroII has some strange disadvantadges with some 3d engines. Besides KyroII can only compete in the 32bit hi-res segment. But therefor this cart is very cheap! I got myself a Club3D KyroII 64M TV-out for only €95. In your case the question is : Will it be lots faster then ur GF2 ??

Yup, agreed the Radeon 8500 is a kick ass card. Now with ATI's recently doubled efforts in driver improvement, you'll be guaranteed a well supported, very stable card.
