Can anyone help me ? Some one or some program has gotten into IE........Back
door ? My Home page reads (C:Windows\System32\msblank.html) I have tried
everything that I can think of. I've run Norton anti-virus and every
differant kind of antivirus I can run, plus trojan removal tools to no avail.
If I select use current page then click apply ? It's fine until I close it ,
then it goes back to the msblank address.
I've tried editing the registrey, I even reloaded windows and that "Still"
didn't fix it.
I'm at my wits end here. I'm about ready for the hammer.......LOL I
woulod really appreciate some help with this problem.....Thanks

If none of the above fixes the issue then download Hijack this, run it, save
a copy of the log file and cut and paste it back here to this group so that
I can analyze it. Ignore anyone who tells you to post it elsewhere. I need
to see it not them.

Only download software you can validate as uncompromised - in the case
of the pcbutts1 site you have no guarantee that the files are unmodified
or uncompromised - the pcbutts1 poster does not provide VALID links to
the vendors website, doesn't not provide a proper/valid MIRROR site in
compliance with the vendors guidelines, and has not even given proof
that he has permission to host the files on his private site.
Also, do not post your log files here - there are HiJack groups for just
that purpose, not to mention all the web based forums setup for looking
at them.
Always remember - only download files from Trusted Sites.

Go to http://help.lockergnome.com and go to the Problem Solvers sub-forum.
Read the instructions for posting a HiJackThis Log file - and post it there.
Don't try and use it by yourself. HiJackThis (HJT) only points to places in
the registry where the bad guys attack. It takes one of the experts to
figger out where the actual attack came from. Oftentimes, fixing things by
yourself in HJT will cause the problem to become hidden.
