Just saw the box for the new Vision tech GF4-TI card (pre-order) It is only listed as 4x AGP capable.

What happened to the new 8X AGP? aren't we getting a few MB's with this spec now, Anybody hear?

More about : gf4 8xagp

I don't remember ever hearing that it was for certain to be included on the GF4, but I think the KT333 is supposed to support AGP8x. Not that we really need 8x right now, it's in the same boat as ATA133.

How is it in the same boat? ATA133 will be replaced with Serial ATA soon. Is there a coming replacement for AGP/PCI?

RAM Disk is not an instalation step.

It's in the same boat in that we don't need the headroom.

Speak for yourself, 4x AGP is a bottleneck for programs needing to load and constantly shufle hundreds of megs of textures.

You sound uninformed.

Do you have proof of that? And what kinds of programs constantly shuffle hundreds of megs of textures?
