I was wondering how good the Radeon 64MB DDR Vivo is (our current card), and if the Nvidia GeForce 4 420 MX is better. Thanks for any info you can give me.

More about : radeon geforce

I have no personal experience with either card, but by all reports the GeForce4 MX420 is the worst card that money can buy. It has 166Mhz SD RAM, which strangles the performance of the core. The nicest thing that could be said for it is that it probably doesn't produce much heat.

I have a ati vivo now and I love it, to push more performance out of it firt download the newest drivers for it at the ati website then download the radeontweaker at http://radeontweaker.sourceforge.net and make tweakes to your card. Biggest performance boosts come from overclocking the card to 195-205mhz which is a secure speed. and if you mant to, change the memory latency and memory timing to fast.
Its not worth it to update to a geforce4mx.

back away from the gf4mx! it doesn't even support the dx8 features that it's full-fledged brothers does.
