I was considering an ATI 8500 for a long time, I've been working all summer (in Australia), and I still don't have enough money for everything I want.
I'm buying my new system in a few weeks, and I am trying really hard to get everything as cheap as possible, without compromising performance. I want to get this system NOW! I've been waiting for 18 months to get enough money, so here's what I'm getting:
Soltek SL-DRV-4
AthlonXP 2000+
Seagate 7200rpm 40GB HDD
256MB PC2100 DDR
Alpha PAL 8045 w/80mm
?Leadtek GeForce3 Ti200 64M?
I can afford all this at the moment, and as extra money comes in throughout the year I will be adding things to it.
I don't want to settle for second best on any (important) component, but I don't have enough money for the ATI 8500. Do you think I should really wait for the money?
As I get the money I will be adding things like a Lian Li PC69 w/Leadman 400W P/S, DVD player (havn't decided on a brand), Hercules XPS 510 speakers, and a Creative Audigy Platinum (I will have to put up with AC'97 for a while :frown: ).
Any further suggestions or comments?
