I'm looking to buy a new grafic card soon. But since the GF4 Ti4200 is probably going to be priced as low as 199.- USD I would like to wait and either buy this one or get older cards cheaper... But the big problem is that I have no idea when grafic cards with the Ti4200 chip actualy ARE comming - it could be one week or it could be months....
Do anybody know anything for a fact - or have some *reasonable* idea??

Thx!

nVidia's press release states the Geforce4 Ti's will become available to consumers week 1, March. They do not say which models. Last rumors I heard indicated the fate of the Ti4200 was still up in the air, something about the Ti4200 and MX460 being priced too close together.

If I were to guess (and I am), the Geforce4 MX460 will come out first. After the first price drop, say one month, maybe we'll see the Ti4200 at the original price. You can take my opinion and $1.50 and buy a cup of coffee.

It think the 4200 might be paired with some SLOW 4ns or 5ns DDR with it.

Gainward is only one manufacturer (that i know) that anounced a TI-4200 model by now. But it seems that they replaced that card with a MX-460 model a few days ago.
I think that confirms phsstpok's rumors.

NVidia doesn't even have a 4200 listed in their product line-up. All the others are there.

I believed that nvidia pushed the GF4 Ti4200 because there afraid it will hurt the MX there cashcow. I call it a stupid move since the Radeon 8500 will be in the GF4 MX460 Price range. There making a big mistake if they dont release the Ti4200.
