Looks like the KT333 is the first motherboard to support AGP 8x standard. I wonder what the first graphics card that will use it? I remember hearing back in the days prior to the GeForce4 launch that the Ti4600 would use it, but now I see no mention of it.

RcF84's Interesting Fact:

The Radeon 8500 use's 800mb's of AGP bandwith and the Geforce 3 Ti500 used 650mb's of Bandwith.

The KT333 is Via's newest chipset.

And where did you get that info from? I'd like more details on that.

sure... Actually the R8500 used 856 mb's so the 8x on the R300 is most likely and the GeForce3 Ti500 only used 560mb's. ATi can use the AGP bus much more effective then Nvidia.

It also seems the GeForce2 MX and the GeForce3 Ti500 use the same bandwith *weird*.

I have been waiting for AGP 8X for sometime. AGP 8X does not only have better bandwidth. It should also support more than one AGP device. I alway want my computer to have two AGP video cards.

You're going to need some serious bandwith for 2 agp cards, no ?

Interesting, so with a R8500, the AGP4X bus might actually be the bottleneck.

Yes, it is a bottleneck, but Whats up wiht nvidia the GF2 MX and the GF3 Ti500 use the same bandwith ?

I do not really care about the increasing in bandwidth but AGP 4X only support one AGP device. AGP 8X will be the first AGP standard to support more than one AGP device.
