What a coincidence! I just took my old V2 out of my pc the other day and am looking at it now... Do you mean the bit above the two vga ports? If so I think that is actually an SLI connector to link 2 voodoo2 cards together, although I dont know. On my card, (Inno 3d Mighty 3d II) it has copper wires (?) down the other side of the circuit board so its definately some sort of a connection. The only thing I can think of is the SLI. What else could it be?

Are right, I did wonder, strange thing one of my motherboards as got the same sort of connection, it is not the disk drive (thats marked) this one is near the back and no markinf for it? Been looking for the motherboard spec info to try and find out what that one was too, I did hope it would be another sort of vga connector so I could link the Voodoo card to it, less cables at the back, in my dreams, oh well thanks.

It's an SLI connector so if you have two IDENTICAL Voodoo 2s, you can link them with a short SLI cable and run at 1024x768. It's not really worth it though, especially since 3dfx had all kinds of signal integrity issues with their SLI implementation.
