ATI releases different versions of their All In Wonder cards in America (NTSC) and Europe (PAL). Does anyone know if there are actual difference in the hardware of the cards sold in different coutnries or do they just change the software bundle?

Since the ATI AIW 7500/8500 is not sold in Europe I have had the same question. As far as I could find the 7500 and earlier products won't work because the hardware is different. The 8500 has a different sort of TV tuner, so I'm not sure if this will work. In a review of Tom of the 8500DV he encountered problems with a NTSC version (garbled image) but he wasn't sure about the cause. Hercules is currently selling the 7500/8500 AIW in Europe...

Just bought the card (Hercules 7500 AIW, which is 100% identical to the ATI) and there is a software setting for PAL/NTSC. The US models should work in Europe.
Edited by Anc on 03/04/02 09:51 AM.
