I was running a 1Ghz T-bird on a Tyan Trinity KT133 mobo with 256mb of PC100 RAM and a GeForce 3. With Windows 98SE I was getting 3DMark scores of 4824. Decent, but not the best. I've recently done a clean install of Windows XP Pro and popped in 512mb of shiny new PC133 RAM, but my scores dropped! My new score is 4526, with the Detonator XP 23.11 drivers. Now, i don't get it. I thought XP and more and faster RAM would at least increase me score. Any suggestions? I've been through my BIOS a million times and i'm pretty sure i've got everything configured right.
I have noticed 2 things though:
In the NVIDIA display properties, under the BUS Type it says 'AGP (PCI Mode)'. Is that bad? Is there supposed to be an AGP Mode?
Also, in 3DMark under system information it says my video card is in PCI BUS 1. Is that another name for the AGP slot and no one told me?
It also says I have 0bytes of Local Texture Memory, 0bytes of Local Video Memory and 0bytes of Total AGP Memory.
I'm pretty sure it's not the card because a buddy of mine is having a similar problem with his GeForce3 but with a P4 1.5Ghz system.
Any help would be extremely appreciated
