When is this bad boy coming out? Also will it be just a Radeon 8500 64MB with extra memory or will it be clocked faster to compete with the Geforce4? I was about to buy a Radeon 8500 64MB but I'm not sure is I should wait for the 128MB version.

as far as I know, it is just merely more memory, and in my opinion, it won't make much different with standard resolution (1024*768). If u're going to use higher resolution maybe that extra memory helps.

the R8500 128mb version is already out...but i recommend not getting it because it on gives you a couple of extra percentage points of improvement over the 64mb version.
and besides...you can get the retail R8500 64mb at http://www.compuplus.com for around $160...now thats cheap.

What about anti-aliasing? Will the extra memory help with that? I want to play games at 1024X768X32 with AA preferbly at 4x. Also will that extra memory help with features like the pixel shaders, truform, and antiostropic filtering? BTW what is the price difference(msrp), I dont see it at the ATI website. If theres not too much of a price difference I'll probably get the 128MB version just because it might help with DOOM III

The Radeon 8500 will benefit from the extra 64MB of VRam a lot more than the GF3 Ti 200 does. I believe the reason is because of a more advanced memory architecture, the same type of thing you see on a GF4 which is why the GF4 runs mostly off its onboard memory and doesnt have to access the AGP bus as often as the GF3's. Overall the 128MB version should show improvements in performance with the best utilization coming when using memory eating applications such as AA (Smoothvision), Truform and Anisotropic Filtering. If you have the cash, I say go for it (or wait for the R250).

since its $256 at newegg.com i'm guessing the retail price is $299? I doubt the performance difference is enough to warrant the extra $100, unless there is a big boost in Anti Ailiasing performance and other such extras. BTW I've been checking tomshardware everyday for the review :)
