Jedi knight 2 help.

I'm having trouble with my fps jedi knight 2. whenever i'm out in the open my fps drops to around 50-70 from about 150 inside and, if I use force speed sometimes it drops to 20 fps! Any idea what the problem is?

P4 2.53
Radeon 9700pro
512 ddr ram
80 gig hd WD 7200rpm
winXP
350W ps

You have the latest drivers for the R9700?

That card also eats up a lot of power......I'm not really sure if the PSU it to blame though.
