Hey there. I'm looking for a new video card to go with my Athlon XP 1600\ VIA KT266a mobo. I have 512mb pc2100 ram. I was thinking about a radeon 8500 but the geforce 4 is kicking ass in benchmarks and i've heard that ATI will soon release a new, 128mb radeon. I've only got about $150 to spend. Should i just get a radeon now, or wait for the 128mb version? Will the extra ram make a significan difference in games?

Thanks,

We just got the Radeon 8500LE with 128MB of DDR RAM at my work today. Price was not able to be called up. I'll keep you updated.

Check it out dude, regular, standard, normal, ordinary 8500's with 64MB now come in the faster 300MHz variety and cost around $150. Get one, and hope you find it's the newer version.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Too bad ATI doesn't label the enhanced R8500s. They shouldn't put a "NEW ENHANCED VERSION" sticker on the boxes.
