Hello, everyone. Longtime lurker, first time poster. Anyway, I just went from a TNT2 Ultra to a Radeon8500 retail 64megs. Benchmarking with 3DMark2001, I'm getting a score of 6738. Now, seeing as how my last card gave me a 1300, I'm very happy with this score. But, it seems like most people on the board are getting over 7000 with their 8500's, and I was just wondering if anyone might know a reason why I'm not. I'm using the 6043 drivers. Here are my specs (nothing overclocked):

ECS K7VZA mainboard
AMD Athlon 1.2GHz
512 megs PC-133 RAM
SB Live! Value
ATI Radeon 8500 64 megs 275/275
WinXP Pro

Thanks much!!

Matt

That's because your motherboard is holding you back. With only 1.6GB/s of bandwidth at 100MHz (200MHz effective), you score will be slightly lower than people with a faster bus (266MHz effective).

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor
