In various applications which uses Windows, there are various Drop-Down
lists. How do I remove items from these lists, is it via the Registry?

This is a general enquiry, as other systems (such as e-mailing in NTLWorld)
have Drop-Down lists, items in which I would like to remove.

I think you need to be specific as to which applications you are referring to.

If you refer to Internet Explorer, and the fields where you type in ......then....
To remove a particular item from the drop-down list -- the next time you are filling in an item --- highlight that item on the drop-down list-- right-click and select "Delete". Or another way, even before typing, double-click the empty box , so that you can see the whole list.

To clear *ALL* entries you ever made in I.E. -- In IE, go to Tools---Internet Options-----click the "CONTENT" TAB----see
Personal Information box---click the "Autocomplete button". Look at the block "Clear AutoComplete history".
The button Clear Passwords is pretty much obvious.
The button Clear Forms would cause *clearing / flushing* all the entries typed in at any page.

You'd probably need to have each user login & do this for each user account.

You may also turn off Auto Complete in IE browser. Just un-check the appropriate line in the AutoComplete settings.

Thanks Norman,

This was really a general enquiry.

I use a number of applications, such as www.statcounter.com and
www.ntlworld.com, where I am asked for my Username. For NTLWorld, in
sending e-mails, I have to select addresses from the 'TO' and 'CC' drop-down
boxes. In these boxes, there are a number of old addresses which I would
like to get rid of, mainly as I keep sending e-mails to the wrong selected
address, rather embarrassing.

I think your suggestions, which I was not aware of, might solve my problem
by removing everything, and then starting again. I did try selecting on an
unwanted item, in an drop-down box (after it appeared in the box) and
right-clicking on it and selecting "Delete", but that didn't seem to work.
It removes the item from the box, but the item is still in the drop-down
list.
