I can't figure this out. I am running an Athlon 1.4 ghz t-bird w/512 MB of SDRAM, Win 98 SE, dx8.1, SB live and a Geforce 3 Ti500 running 23.11 of the detonator drivers. I'm running lean, nothing but explorer and systray, 97% resources free.

Periodically I experience a one second video "freeze" even with engines that are not coming close to challenging the geforce (Drakan for example). This stuttering is very annoying. Can anyone give me ideas?

thanks

Maybe your computer needs some training to avoid it's video impedement?

Seriously, usually something like that tends to lead towards there being a huge CPU usage hit suddently. Could be a few things. Make sure you have nothing automated running in the background.

I do not like it Tom you see,
I do not like green PCB.
