R8500 outperforms Ti4600 in SS:SE

Feel free to comment. I find this quite a feat for the R8500 and would encourage more people to go for the R8500 over the Ti4200 and Ti4400.

Sorry, I've discovered why. Apparently, they were running on a 1.5GHz P4.

I really do hate to say this, but BS. This is from that company's OWN bench, and you really can't trust that. I'm sorry, but it's just not a trustable source.

Nice HSF on that radeon.

It's nice to have a fight between some of the top Video cards. ATI looks like they have saved a lot of their reputation with the 8500. Now they need to release the next generation of cards and keep that one running well. That should silence all doubters about how serious ATI is.

However, it was also on a P4 1.5, so it the speed issues might simply be a matter of how the GPU scales too. Would be interesting to see that in the tests.

Hmm, it seems to me that the GF4 doesn't shine until it gets a bleeding-edge processor and the GPU becomes the bottleneck.

Perhaps, in future video card reviews, they should use 2 different CPUs, one high end, and one lower end (2.0 and 1.5 P4s would work, or an XP 2000+ and 1600+, something like that) to show how well the GPU scales, and which one would be better for different systems.
