Hello everyone. Can someone please help with this question? I am having
performance and software installation issues with my PC running Windows XP
Home Edition. One problem in particular with a software installation is my
inability to install and run iTunes. Also, my PC just doesn't seem to behave
"right". It's freezes a lot.

Everything was okay until recently when my iTunes was running and I did an
upgrade to the latest version. Subsequently, I did a System Restore in Safe
Mode just because I needed to restore to a previous date. That's when things
started to get messy.

One thing that I notice now is that when I boot my PC and the Windows XP
title screen first appears the "Home Edition" no longer appears on that title
screen. I swear it used to be there before prior to my problem. Does this
mean I have a corrupt copy of Windos XP? I've tried scanning for viruses and
there aren't any. Thanks.

Ron--You're pop-up blocker may be stoping you from opening a new page to post. Try turning it off & clicking on new again.

When you used system restore you also restored I-Tunes (and anything else installed after the restore point was created) to the state it was before the upgrade. That may be causing some conflicts. Try re-installing the updated I-Tunes again.

On the boot screen the Home or Pro was taken out with SP2. Nothing wrong there.
As for your other problem, Try reinstalling since a system restore doesnt restore software just windows components, registry and such. The registry entries are for the previous version of iTunes and not the newest.
