I need help. See my thread in the game section. Basically Operation Flashpoint crashes for no reason that I can come up with. The only thing that I can think of is a memory dump or something lame that I wouldn't have a clue how to spot. I'm running 128MB of generic memory. Is there some way to ensure that it's getting enough? I'm so frustrated!!
If no one comes up with an answer I'll just blame it on VIA
I'll be hopefully plugging a Ti200 in here tommorrow to see if that helps any. I know it's not the video card though since it runs on a PII 450 down the hall with a voodoo3 as well. I'm going insane...
but you can run other games though seems odd drivers have all be updated to the newest newest? Also are you sure yer system isnt overheating? Or better yet its the software.

This system isn't as cool as mine at home, but it's still ok. Around 49C idle. The software works fine on the other machine. The drivers are just the latest release from 3DFX. Not much more I can do than that.
I'm pretty sure it's this damn platform. I've tried all the 4in1 drivers and so on, but the registry keeps crashing if I play with it too much. I got the promise driver right off the ASUS A7V page, and I downloaded the latest 4in1 (4.35 I think), I'm using the 1.07 Voodoo3 drivers, and the rest is just a NIC and a Soundblaster Live Value. Is there some other patch I need for the VIA and Soundblaster issue? I'm working with Win98se.
I'm going to download motherboard monitor just to be sure it's not spiking in temperature.
Just out of curiosity, if I have an AMD chip, an AMD northbridge, and a VIA so bridge which is the weakest link of the 3? I am wanting to know so I can develop an overly excessive support system consisting of solder, titanium bars, gold interconnects, and some chewing gum to hold it all together.
