I doubt all of that. Some of the claims are quite high (Twice the speed of competators), especialy the DX9 one, since I haven't heard a peep out about DX9 at the moment other than it will be included in Win XP:SE.

If it can actualy deliver on what it claims, and it realy is a real card, then Nvidia has some troubles on their hands with their prices. $229 for a card that is twice as fast as one that costs $400 isn't going to go well for the $400 company.

Trollin' trollin' trollin', keep them doggies postin', my fingers are swollen, Rawhide!

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Those specs seem pretty specific for something that's a mirage.

I can't think of a good signature so I'll use this one.

I never even knew that Matrox even made high-end 3D cards. i thought they were mainly server and multi-monitor cards with great 2D performance. Anyone know of any good Matrox card reviews. I'd like to check this out.

It wouldn't hurt to have a 3rd competitor in the mainstream card market. Why just recently SiS announced their return with a 128MB card that runs as good or better than a Geforce 4 MX 460! I do like more competition, in case ATI or Nvidia fumbles down, which I hope not!

in the dim and distant days of spring 1998 I bought a PC with a PII-400Mhz and a Matrox G200 Millenium, and it was considered a out and out 3-d card for gaming. So Matrox used to be a competitor for 3dfx, but they were always a little behind. So....In the last few years they've re-positioned themselves a mid/low 3-d graphics card manufacurer, with cards designed for things other than gaming!
