I'm getting about 8050 in 3dmark2001.

I'm running a P4 at 1.6 Ghz(MSI 845 UltraARU, no oc'ing) on XP Pro with 512 MB DDR SDRAM. VisionTek XTasy Geforce4 Ti4600 with the 28.32 Detonator XP drivers. No AA, double frame buffer at 1024x768x32. Is my score of 8050 good, or is there something I should look at? Thanks!

That sounds about right. What you could do is do your benchmark and then use the online result browser and you can compare your computer with some others.

It's ok. I score just under that with a stock Radeon 8500 and a 1.33GHz Athlon with SDRAM.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

i get a little higher than that with the R8500...but then again...my cpu has a 400mhz advantage....not to mention double the L2cache...i wonder what the score will be if the P4 1.6 was overclocked a couple of hundred mhz...

With the same Visiontek 4600 on a Asus P4t with a p4 1.7Ghz with 768RDRAM i get 8850 completely stock, no overclocks. Running Windows XP and the same 28.32 detonators. Just tweak that system down... Run tweak XP on it to speed it up a tad, and make sure you have no extra programs running, aka Anti Virus programs. Also try runnin the test with triple fram buffer. Not sure if it makes a difference but all the major magazines do their tests with that option. Also, if you use dialup to connect to the internet, disconnect before running your test.

I think the performance is great. It handles games like Quake3, Counter-Strike, Ghost Recon, Black & White etc., very easily. I don't know if any of the games out right now will really give it a challenge yet.

It'll run anything out there in 1600x1200 32 bit color with 4xS super AA on smoothly on a p4 2ghz or equivalent pc. On my p4 1.7 its very playable at those settings, just not quite perfectly smooth.

I'm just tossing this info out, but with an Athlon XP 1800+ and a stock PNY Ti4600 I get 10008 to 10111 3Dmarks in 3D Mark 2001se.
Maybe go into your bios and make sure your running AGP 4x, and that your graphics aperature is set to 256.

If my response is brief and vague its because the info you provided is too!

graphics aperature should be double the memory size of the video card. So 256 if you've got 128 megs of ram on it, 32 if your video card has 16 megs of ram on it, etc.

I use the same card with a Shuttle AK31A KT266A board and an XP1800+ and I scored 9853. Funny my cpu and mobo cost half what my video card did.
