D-Link DWL-G520 configuration won't hold setting

The configuration utility for my two DWL-G520 PCI clients won't hold one
setting: I *MUST* open the utility from the taskbar icon and go to
Configuration and reset the IEEE802.1X setting to Disable every time I boot
the computer or I will not get online.

As soon as I choose Disable I'm instantly on the internet but not until
then. I can then close the configuration window. I told this to the tech
support technician in India and his response was "that's impossible".

Is there any way I can get the software to hold this setting so I don't have
to choose it manually every time I boot the computer?
