So it'd run fine. What would really make me happy is if there was an OpenGL thing, cause then I'd use my Quadro DCC, and wooo! That thing would run at about 2x teh speed of a GF3 Ti500!

It may cost more than an XBOX, but you can do way more with a PC than with an XBOX. And if you're gonna have a PC like that anyways, then why get an XBOX?
The quadro DCC is basically a GF3, except optimized for OpenGL, as well as apps such as 3DSMAX. A really powerful card- although it's d3d performance isan't as good as a GF3's, it's OGL performnce is more than 2x as fast!

Games come out earlier for xbox- that's basically teh only reason. Plus u can say u have XBox, and have bragging rights....not that a GF3 or Quadro DCC doesn't entitle u to them..

Precisely! But you are not married to my wife, who felt that we needed an Xbox as well.
All Xbox games will eventually be ported to the PC (won't take much redevelopment) anyway, and will outshine the Xbox (unless the Xbox has the HDTV attachment and a HDTV).
Just look at the addons available for PC games. There must be a thousand varients of Half-Life alone. No addons or mods for the Xbox games. But, the Xbox does allow 4 players, without needing 4 computers. Hmmm... I also have 4 computers networked. Why did we need the Xbox?
Must talk with my wife...........

One thing that a lot of people are forgetting too, is that you need a TV to play XBOX. Well, okay, maybe they're not forgetting that, but for those that argue why should I spend $2000 on a PC when I can play games on an XBOX for $400? Well, your TV also costs something, and if you want to use the HDTV option, then that cost skyrockets. But then you can say that you have a TV already, so that doesn't count. But then again, you will already have a PC. And most people in here have at least a gigahertz chip, and it's probably overclocked, with a good video card. If they're gonna spend $400 on something, it may as well be for an athlon XP and a GF3 or something.
Why emulate an XBOX? Cause it's free... Why pay for an XBOX if you can emulate it? And PC ports of XBOX games will come out too... So you won't even have to emulate the games.
FPS games HAVE to be played with a keyboard and mouse...
I think everyone missed the point here, this is not an XBOX emulator, this is an emulator FOR the XBOX.
MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is a distributed project to code emulation to support arcade machine ROMS natively. Full library is now something like 4GB+ and over 1700 working titles.
This is a port of MAME TO the xbox, not an xbox emulator on a PC.

Functionality: Emulates MAME arcade ROMs on the XBox
It is actually very cool, just not in the way you guys think.

It usually takes along time for a good emulator to come out. Look up a snes or a n64 or even a gba one they are rather system intensive and took along time to mature. the dreamcast is still be best system for hacking but the xbox could be a good one too. just put in a 60gig drive and all of your divx movies.
I wonder if they could emulate a GameCube on the Xbox.
I wonder why you would want too. In my apt there is a PS2, a Xbox, and a Gaycube. I own the PS2, my friend from highschool/roommate owns the Xbox, and my other roommate owns the Gaycube. I think I have played the Gaycube for about 5 minutes so far and watched bits and pieces other times. Can't say that I'm really impressed, looks like a cracked out N64 with an even more cracked out controller. Nintendo missed the bus with this one and I hope they are left in the dust for good.
