Hello,
I am trying to upgrade Sony Vaio laptop from XPHome to XP Pro. I ran the
check utility at the begining to make sure the system is compatible and no
incompatabilities were found.
After it rebooted during the installation it continued for a few more
minutes and them got hung up. And continues to get hung up at the same point
upon subsequent reboots. I can not get back to the original system. It
seems stuck in this loop of automatically continuing with the upgrade and
getting stuck.
The error log shows the following:
Setup encountered an error while trying to set system security. An
extended error occurred.

Hello,
I know this is probably a very silly question so please forgive me.
I was using Millenium Edition and upgraded to XP Home. I had shortcuts on
the desktop on ME and didn't make note of all of them so I am wondering if
there is anyway I can find them. I tried going to History but have been
unsuccessful. I would appreciate any feedback on this subject.
Thank You.
