I have an old NES that I lost the AC adapter for, so I bought a myiicco
"AC Adaptor 3-in-1" on ebay. It says on the box: "Compatible with
NES/SNES/Genesis".

The bottom of my NES says "AC9V 850mA", but the sticker on this adapter
says "DC9v 850mA".

Will this not work? Would it harm the system to plug it in and try?

it will work for the nes it has more dc because of the super nes it will get hot the ac adapter but it works it came whit my nes syteme
