Mario 64 DS: First Impression

I just bought the Nintendo DS with Mario 64 DS and here is my first
impression of the game so far...

Okay, I was hoping it would be cool, but wow, the graphics are amazing!!

"How in the world did they do that", I keep thinking as I play.

I decided to play while charging the battery and I skipped reading the
instructions.

I will read the instructions when I gain more experience, so here is my
basics...

Yoshi is so cool. You can't enter the castle without the key!

So now, Yoshi must catch a rabbit who holds the key to the castle.

As in traditional Mario fashion, Yoshi can do the jumps and flips. The
triple (super) jump, all of them, you name it!

The camera is smarter in this version. The camera needs adjustment from time
to time, however, it is on par with where I need to be and it is very
accurate.

The run button is very cool. Playing the first new world to capture 5 silver
stars to unlock the yellow star was interesting. If you get hit, you can
loose a star or two, then you go chasing them down!

The princess slide is back!! The room looks drastically different now with
many doors (all but one is locked).

Having this portable is going to be so neat. The controls take time to
adjust to the new characters. Yoshi is fun because he can eat, then spit out
his foes.

The overhead map is SO MUCH FUN.

I found more warps just by going to places and standing still.

If you don't kill any goombas, you're bound to find a goomba wearing a hat!
Eat him to become Mario.

This game is actually more fun than the original N64 version. I got a few
secret castle stars. So far, I have 6 stars. I need 8 to open a special door
to getting the Mario Key.

This game rocks! The music is very good and the surround stereo is amazing!
You can hear things coming from behind, to the left, right, wherever and it
sounds so real in only 2 speakers!

Way to go, Nintendo!!

I am glad I made the right choice!!

The first star I decided to get was the Chain Chomp. It was interesting with
Yoshi because Yoshi has a floating jump which takes time getting the hang
of. I may have lost a few lives, but I gained even more.

Go outside the castle and there are a bunch of rabbits holding keys!

Okay, I'm psyched!
