New ATI Radeon 8500 drivers Problems! (XP)

Has anyone had problems with the new April 11th, 2002 drivers? Seems like every DirectX game freezes my comp after about 20 mins of gameplay...happens in Tony Hawk 3 all the time! Anyone else experincing this??? I'm probably going back to the old drivers if possible...ofcourse the way graphics chip makes do their software these days, my comp might blow up on me...something I experinced with the GeForce cards...Hmm....

those lock up seem more like a heat issue to me.
do you know what the temperature of your computer's at when you're playing games?
if you dont already have case fans...get at least one and put it as an exhaust fan (blowing air out) at the back of the case....that might help...
