display won't stay at any other setting but 800X600 for more than a few reboots. Have set it in display and nvidea control panels and it will not stay.

what version nvidia drivers are you using, and with which video card? did you make any changes to your hardware or software just before this started?

Thanks, The card is a geoforceMX400 and the driver version is 3.0. I haven't made any changes to any software since installing the card. This was a newly built computer with onboard sound and video before cthia installation.

Did you disable the onboard video? That could be messing with the new card. You should be able to disable it in the bios. If not then disable it under the device manager.
Had to do this on my friends dell computer. Been working fine.
