I have used a Plextor PX 712-A DVD burner for about 6 months, no problem. Now
I can’t burn to the drive, but can read from it.
Every time I click “Burn†I get what’s called the “Blue Screen of Deathâ€
with “BAD_POOL_HEADER†as the reason.
I’ve used Ulead Video Studio 7 (which came with the AverMedia video capture
card) and Roxio’s Easy Media 7.5 (Upgraded from the v. 6 that was provided
with the drive). Same results in both programs. So I don’t think it’s an
application, but the hardware or something related to it.
I didn’t note other details, but allowed Windows XP (SP2) to write the
memory dump to the hard drive.
This happened about six times now. About four of those times I’ve had to
reinstall the operating system to even get it to reboot.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
