I've got some kind of a hardware problem... and I'd like an opinion about what might be the problem. About a week ago my machine crashed. I shut it down and upon restarting, it wouldn't. Green power led comes on, HD led comes on steady (but i don't think the hard drive is getting accessed), cpu fans on, etc. I was thinkin it was the motherboard so I replaced it. To my suprise (and less 100 bucks) it wasn't the motherboard. New motherboard same behavior. My next guess is that its the CPU? Any ideas? Thanks everybody.

Hmm.. What's your systems configuration. and do you have any spare parts you can try, before you have to buy new ones?

It's probably either CPU or Powersupply. How many watts is your PS and what brand is it or is it generic?

With a new mb I would have thought he would have reseated everything. How long had your computer been running before it crashed and do you remember what you where doing?

Thanks everybody... i'm guessin its my cpu though... alot of you were asking questions about bios and such. I can't even get to my bios. It won't boot that far. So... I've taken all my pci cards out and i'm gonna try booting with just the processor and motherboard and see if i can get to bios. if not, then i think i've found my problem... and lucky for me slot a processors are wicked cheap because they're old :) Thanks
