all icons open same program...help?

the pc is xp sp2... apon latest restart all icons on desktop and start
menu all go to the same program (a solitaire game). tried avg and even
restore but something has blocked all but this one program. restore
reads systam restore log missing but i can get to it, it seems to be
blocked also. internet reachable through open with/choose other program
and can check mail but thats about it. anyone know if theres a new bug
out there doing this and if so any ideas on the fix or do i now have a
1200 dollar solitaire machine.

Try repairing the .lnk (shortcut) file association. A quick can be found at

Aside from the fact that this post is 6 yrs old, you provided windows 7 information for an XP system.
