Hi. I didn't know where to post this but I am so fed up with Dell sales
tactic that I will post it anywhere. It regards Dell's refurbish sales
tactic.

I have been checking for any refurbish Inspiron on a daily basis for a
friend and eventually saw some on sales at their Malaysia website on a
Friday (15th) evening. Called up 1-800-88-0301 and was told their office
closed for the day. Called up on Saturday (16th) 9:10 am and was told
refurbish sales personnel will only work on coming Monday (18th) but the
saleslady did took down all my particular and the refurbish package of my
interest. She further promised to pass the information to the appropriate
sales personnel doing the refurbish sales.

When Monday came, I got no call from Dell so I called them instead. I was
told that the unit of my choice had already been sold but when I ask them
when was it sold, they told me that it was sold around Friday 15th. The
funny thing is, their website still list that system as available all day
Friday (15th), Saturday (16th), Sunday (17th) and Monday (18th)! Yes, even
AFTER they told me verbally on Monday as being not available anymore, it was
still listed for many more hours later as available for sales to general
public on their website.

So what's going on? If Dell intends to sell that unit to only a group of
selected customer, then why do they list it as available for sales to the
general public? And if it had already been sold, why still list it on
website as available for days afterward? I felt like being taken for a ride
with this deception.

I had called to complaint and send Dell an email but till today, I heard
nothing. I had always got great sales service from Dell and have bought
several computers for my company usage. The last was being a customized
Insprion on a couple of month's back. May be it about time to look elsewhere
for my next purchase.

Dell has a Malaysia website? I would never have guessed. Anyway, there is
the possibility that the updates to their website (Malaysia, you say?) did
not get done in a timely fashion. Dell may not have been trying to practice
deceptive sales techniques.
