Black screen after windows logo

Good afternoon,

I am having a problem on a new build (3 weeks old or so) that I have not been able to figure out. The computer bios checks out fine, the windows logo will appear and start to load, then sometime between that point and when it should go to the select user/password screen, the display will just change to black with a cursor dash.

When I reset, I ran the tool to check for errors that you get from a windows did not start up notice, but it finds no errors and just says do you want to restore to when it worked. But since it has done this since day one, there is no good restore point.

The weird thing is that this is completely random. Sometimes it boots through just fine, sometimes it does this black screen thing. Its literally like a 50/50 thing.

Any ideas?
