geforce 4 ti 4200 visiontek

I just picked up visionteks geforce 4 ti 4200 with 128meg.
I play sof2 and i was using my gef 2mx before upgrading.
I was hoping i would get lots more fps but i really dont.
I average between 20-100 in multiplayer.. but while playing mostly get around 30-40 why is this? i was getting 20-50 with my gf mx 2.. This dont make sense. Im using the newest drivers and my pc is 933mhz with 384 megs.

It could be that your proc is holding you back. SOFII is pretty new I think, so maybe the CPU can't really handle it. Like even on a P4 2GHz with a GF4 Ti4600, Commanche4 maxes out at ~40FPS. Also what do you mean by

You say you average between 20-100, but while playing you get 30-40??.... That doesn't really make any sense. Do you get 20-100 or 30-40? One reason why there are fluctuations in the FPS is if there's a lot of action, then the FPS usually goes down. Why you're getting worse than your NX, I'm not sure. You could test on some other games or do a test of 3D Mark 2001SE and see how it performs.

I get 30-40 when there isnt much action.. but when there is action it will drop to 17 then go up to 40.. I dont have agp 4 i guess i have agp 2 that can be doing it.. I did a 3dmark 2001 and i received a score of around 6400.. Could it be that im at agp 2 rather than 4? is there really a way to check? Its an HP 8775c computer..

Well if you look at your score, it compares pretty well to other scores in your proc range. Maybe it's just that game. Try another game and see.
