Just need sound to work in game, and gotta work on getting it to launch from steam, but I'm close :)

are you using winex, I got HL working strait out with no problems. Im using fedora core 1 but I did have to adjust the pre linker for wine.

edit /etc/sysconfig/prelink
set PRELINK_OPTS to..
PRELINK_OPTS="-mR --no-exec-shield"

then run the following:

touch /var/lib/misc/prelink.force
/etc/cron.daily/prelink

Just the latest CVS of wine (12-12-03 IIRC) and a guide I found on the gentoo forums. Steam doesn't work still, but I haven't put much time into it.
