I have built a new system, which has a G3 Ti200 64M video card (LeadTek)(running WinXP). I have loaded drivers from the CD that came with the card. Looking at DM, they appear to be: 2.1.83 dated 9/14/01, or 5.13.01.2183.
Is there a whole lot to be gained from upgrading these drivers? And what should I upgrade to for a Ge3 Ti card? Most GeForce cards appear to have a sweet spot in driver development, beyond which little gain is realized unless you have a later model card.
Regarding changing drivers: In Win98, I'd revert back to basic VGA drivers, then load a new driver set (ensured that the old drivers got un0installed). What's the process in WinXP?
I would stick with the 21.83's, but if you test the newer ones and find that they offer better performance then stick with those. If they don't, get Detonator Destroyer, uninstall the newer ones and go back to the 21.83's.

sorry, but I'm still stuck in the Pentium III world
Was reading the whitepapers again today. Nvidia recomends Det 4's for GF3 and up, Det 3's for GF 2 and down. What we've been sayin all along pretty much.
23.11 is inded the best performing Det 4 for the GF3 TI 200.

You're lucky to have a LeadTek card. They tweak Nvidia's and make their own custom drivers (unlike a bullcrap OEM company like visiontek, who's driver page is a direct link to the detanator drivers).
Get their latest drivers from their website. That's what I have. Also get their lastest version of WinFox Suite (I think it is 2.0, I am using it). The supreme tweaking and monitoring utility.
Ok ok, I'm a little obsessed, but they put so much more effort into their cards than other companies. And they really are an R&D company that deals with other areas, as they make and sell video conferencing products. And it helps that they come out of Taiwan (much of the better technology comes from there).
