well im planning to upgrade very soon. And it looks like according to my budget that gf4 ti 4200 will be the card. I know the 64 meg is faster, but i dont know how much having less ram will effect it.
What do you guys think i should get, if you say one or the other a reason would be nice.
thanks

64mb and 128mb will perform prety much the same with games that's been released till now, but 128 mb will have the edge for future game releases that has greater textures.
if theres a small price difference, then i would go for the 128mb version, it just sounds better as well.

and just on another throught from my personal point of view, i dont' really see the benifit of getting a 4200, it performs not much better than the R8500. the RV250 is going 2 be released soon some where in the next few mounth, it's faster then the 8500 and 8500 XT and surely, the Ti4200 when it hits the market, it's going to be cheaper then the 8500 as well. so if i were to get a new graphics card, i would wait for the R250 maybe even the R300.

On my opinion, waiting for new technology always is not a good way. When you wait until the one is release then the other one will announce that will release soon.

For my opinion, I just think that should purchase that the one is on the trend market and performance = value then is the best to choose.

64MB has faster memory speed only (500MHz DDR) while 128MB has only (444MHz DDR). I said this before in the community that you can clock your card to 500MHz with the 128Mb version while you can't add additional VGa memory to your 64MB version. But if you are on budget, go get the 64MB but if you want a longer term of investment, go for 128MB...
