AIWR8500 DV output to VCR

I have tried to record the signal from Computer onto Video tape in VCR and the signal fluctuates from good quality to distorted. This appears to be something like a copy protection. I dont understand why when both video card and OS (WinXP) include software for making home videos. Is there a way to record video onto VCR from computer using AIWR8500 DV on Win XP?

I´ve seen it work on a friends computer. He used a S-video/scart cable (computer S-video out --> video scart in), and the sound through the soundcard (soundcard out --> video audio in). It worked perfectly!!!
