Clean install left files and folders behind

I did a clean install of xp pro but it did not delete my old folders on the drive. How can I do another install and delete the old files and folders??? Can I somehow format the disk and reinstall????

Boot your computer from the WinXP CD and choose the options to do a format in NTFS. You will probably need to change your boot order in the BIOS so CD is the first device.

Yes, during install delete the partition it will be installed on and recreate it: D, L, Enter.. C, Enter. Format in whichever way you'd like when it promts you to.
