Here is my setup.

ABIT KR7A-133 MB, AMD Athlon XP 1800+, 512 mb DDR, 140 gig hd, radeon 8500 128mb, pioneer 16x dvd, and other bells and whistles.

I was wondering what the best driver setup for both gaming and dvd viewing would be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean by driver setup?
you mean the opengl/direct3d tabs in the advanced settings?
if you're talking about drivers....go to the ati website and download the latest catalyst drivers.

Thats what I'm talking about is the D3D and OpenGL settings. I have the latest drivers, but i just want to know what setup I need for the best performance.

For best performance just put the sliders all the way to performance. Although you may see some quality decrease, it should increase performance a bit.

What's the deal with lampshades, I mean it's a lamp, why would you want a shade?
