Patch 1.11 coming

Nah.. ;-) But just wanted to know if you would be happy to hear that. I
don't think it will happen, game is pretty old now. Still, many people play
it but I don't think it will happen.

But since many of you were talking about leaving D2 and are looking for
something else I just wanted to know if you could get hooked again to the
game if there was to be another patch.

Now what could you ask for v1.11 would be a new thread for itself.

Now that WOW is out isnt it time to get serious about Diablo III? With this
large of a built in consumer
base it would have to be a best seller...

strange thing is, there really is no need for 1.11. Almost every patch
before it addressed playability issues or was needed to keep the game fresh.
That cycle is long done with. The game is almost 5 years old and no patch
can change the fact that were dealing with a 5 year old game engine.
Playability issues are gone. Cheating remains a problem, but since they
never really addressed it before, why would they now?

No, there will be no 1.11, and frankly we shouldn't ask for one. This game
is a classic and has given us all lots of smiles and sleepless nights. It
will continue to do so for years to come, patches or no.

Anex.....Explodeazon, it now joins the hallowed ground reserved for
"classics" like Wolfenstein and PacMan, who years after their inception are
being discovered by new generations of players all over again.

Ok, Mr. Top Poster! :)

Speaking of old games, Dell now offers an 80pack of old games when you order
a new pc.

short - but I forgot to add it on!

Make single player PLAYABLE again! Like : relaxing fun after a day's work
(a la 1.09), not stressed-out uber-item-or-only-certain-build-viable
gaming...

That would do for me.

At the risk of stating the obvious.... you could just play 1.09 since its
not with anyone else.

I think it *was* in the late 1800's when I was playing those . . . just
can't rightly remember, though.

If you count in the names of some unique items like the Schaefers
Hammer, yes. (look into the credits, there is a guy named Schaefer)

And then there is this legendary reziarfg monster, which hasn't been
seen by anybody so far...

That one's a joke--derived from their ahole web admin's name, G.Frazier.

I thought you'd been around long enough to have known this one. :)

And there are lots of items and monsters named after various folks who
contributed to the game--Shenk, etc. There's even a weapon named for
somebody who won a contest I think, and even the Iron Wolves were named
after some D1 fan group or somesuch, as I recall.

Technically, the Secret Cow Level was originally an Easter egg. Of course
now it's common knowledge, but it was originally a joke that started back in
the D1 days.

I've always liked the fact that Jarulf - one of the Act 3 Ironwolf
merc names - was named after a fan who put together the 'definitive'
guide to Diablo1 and was immortalised in DII for his efforts. I
believe that more of the merc names have similar histories, but I
don't know who the individuals were....

Patch the bug that makes tppk possible. Easy enough to do. When you tp
into town, the computer would verify that all of your
ranged-attacks-in-flight have stopped before allowing you to go hostile.
The fraction-of-a-second delay wouldn't even be noticed by "legit pk's", but
the game would become playable again.

But they'll never patch the game again-or reset the ladders. Blizzard has
abandoned the game.

Do you know this for sure, or is that an expression of your frustration?
