Today i was in a game call act 2 leveling script said hell
i was playing away quite happly on my own with only a few people comming in
and out but no one stayed long
then a level 90 barb droped in so i asked if he cold help with durel witch
he just ran straight in without saying a word and helped me kill him. by the
time i got back to town he was allready in act 3 so i followed him there to
witch he then took me to travincal killed the council and the staight to
mephto at which i have no complants about. so we moved onto act 4 he went
straight to the river of flame and then headed towords the hell forge not
diablo when we got there i had no intencion of giving him my drop so i just
stood the for a while he then went back to town went hostile and came back
so i got the hell out of there by saving and exiting
my question is did he have really think he had any rights to my forge drop
as we had never came to any arragment i never asked for the rush and he
never said 1 word at all
did i do the right thing by just leaving
if i had stayed he would have killed be in a flash as i could tell he was
alot stronger than me

Rushing for hellforge is a typical arrangement, but there's not much he
could have done to force you to complete the hellforge quest if you
didn't want to.

If you hadn't arranged to give him hellforge then theres
no reason you should since plenty of people rush for
free.I think people forget this is a game and treat it
more like a job.

Now theres the thing about people in diablo2. You never know what brand of
person you'll be faced with. I was just today rushed through hell and the
agreement was for my forge. so we get to the hell forge and he let me keep
my drop. i was amazed. not only that but after he rushed me to the end he
helped me with my skill and attributes earning quests and getting anya. this
amazed me. I never thought id find sum1 so nice as to rush me for free and
do extra quests for me. he did get sumthin outta it tho. big D dropped an um
rune and he got it. lol. but it was worth it. i got rushed and made a
friend.

when seasoned players get bored, they rush and give items for free.
sometimes they just quit and come back many many months later.

hmm, i lost count on how many times i've quit...

i know that rushing for the hell forge is the done thing as i have helped
people though normal and got the forge and i have had others do it for me
with out a problem. it was just the facted that he thought that because he
rused me he could get the forge. but he never said a word so as far as i was
concerned it was still mine
besides i would have never agreed to a hell hell forge rush as it is my
first to get there and i really want the runes (to trade for the ik armor)

And that was his mistake.
If he wanted something for his efforts, he should have said something;
even if the arrangement is a de-facto standard, always confirm.

It depends. I usually find a group that will rush me through NM (if I don't
feel like self rushing) and then we will get there, and I'll rush some of
their lower levels through normal and nm and not ask for anything in return,
no drops no hellforge...just depends on who you hook up with online.

Happy Holidays
