Hey people,

I got a couple questions. I was wondering what the highest speeds people have overclocked this card to, while still remaining stable. And also what people have done to get the best balance between performance and quality for GTA3. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I got my R8500LE 128MB to run at 310/310 in 3D Mark2K1, but it wasn't extremely stable. At 305/305 it was perfectly stable. I dunno about the R8500 128MB cause they may have 3.3ns RAM and I only got 3.6ns. :frown:

First of all, I don't think GTA3 is too intensive, so you should be able to run Ansio at a high rate, and posibly 2x or 4x FSAA as well on a higher resolution and get great framerates and look.

As for overclocking, usually 300/300 isn't a problem, some have gotten as high as 325/340. Just toy with the GPU speed and Memory speed seperately till you get something that works for you. Check out Dragothic and the Vertex Shader test (the one with all the dudes who shoot each other), and even the Lobby test in 3DMark2001 are good to check out if you've got problems with the card.

in Dragothic, the Rooftops and textures will have strange tints (Bluish for me) if there is an issue with the speed of the card. In the Lobby and Vertex shader, you will get strange artifacts protruding from several of the people if there is an issue.

Hope that helps.
