Just a quick question, I have a laptop running the Mobility Radeon7500 64mb DDR video card on the Intel 845MP chipset and while running a few benchmark programs lately I noticed that they were all saying that the Fast Writes option for the AGP port is disabled. I know what the fast writes option is and what it does, I also know that my hardware fully supports it. So I was wondering how I can enable the Fast Wites option? On my desktop PC this option is in the Bios under chipset features, But being the fact that this is a laptop and has an Intel mainboard the system Bios is quite limited and doesn't have this option anywhere in it, but is there perhaps a registry setting, Driver tweak or something that can still be used to enable the fast writes feature?

This is what 3dMark2001SE has to say about it...

Thanks for any help you can give...

Yes, The bios works the same as any desktop PC bios and has the majority of features common to all intel chipsets from what I can see, But the only AGP options that you can change in the bios is the aperature size and transfer mode(1x/2x/4x). I currently have it running at 4xAGP with a 256MB Aperature which is half my system memory.

The laptop is made by AlienWare and has a P4 2.4GHZ CPU & 512MB of 266MHZ CL2 DDR MEM. Im currently running WinXP Pro with all the current updates and the video drivers provided by AlienWare on their web page. I have tried using lots of different drivers including thw most current version that is on ati.com but the system runns with Fast Writes disabled no matter whice driver I use...

This will tell you a little more about the laptop...
