crafted items question

i have the recipe down, but it won't create the crafted item. i'm
trying to get a set of "caster boots". i have:

* yellow demonhide boots
* thul rune
* jewel
* perfect amythest

except it won't go. so, what am i doing wrong?

* from what i read on planetdiablo.com, i can make crafted items with
the rare types, as long as they fit the profile. therefore, for the
caster item, i should be able to make caster boots out of the
demonhide boots, right? (caster boots calls for "boots", which i
assume are the little short leather ones)

* the item has to be magic. the set of demonhide boots i have are
yellow, not blue. does this matter?

so, what's preventing this from crafting? the yellow magic status?
or the rare property of the demonhide boots?

The "recipe" calls for "magic" boots, NOT "rare". Correct that, and you
will have your "caster boots"

The item type is correct.

Yellow = rare, blue = magic, gold = unique (sometimes it is difficult
to see the difference between yellow and gold, that is why I mention
it here). I hope you are talking about the letters in which the item
name is written, and not the colour of the boots themselves.

Yellow <> magic, so yes. But you can use rare (=yellow) jewels for
crafting at least.
