ti4600 or Quadro4 900xgl?

Hey all,

My old workstation is laggin' something fierce so I'm starting anew. I'm thinking of purchasing the 900xgl since i do a lot of work in maya and 3dsmax. However, I'm also a total game fiend (max payne is my god). I'm wondering if anyone knows how well the 900xgl will handle games? I'm assuming fairly well, since my wildcat did a decent job, but just wanted to check first. Thanks!

It'll handle em very well. I have a quadro DCC (and will bow down to u once u get ur 900xgl ) and it runs games just fine. OGL is better than w/ a GF 3. There's considerable performance increase in 3ds and maya w/ the quadro.

I hear ATI using this card at siggraph to render scenes from lord of the rings in real time and at resolutions higher than native dvd. And with render monkey you can speed up by a huge percentage rendering in maya and 3dsmax (compared to quadro 900) and pull of special effects that were out of your reach with just a quadro. I am not saying this is the card to get just offering some options.

Most bench show that Fire opengl 8800 is faster that quadro in all version

When's it gonna be out and at what price? Hmm, ati refers to xi computer as one of their resellers (I bought my comp from them actually, great guys) yet they carry r8500's lol. ah well, ati been fooled lol. This rendermonkey is interesting me, does it work into the final render and do part of it w/ gpu?
