i`d always say: ATI radeon 8500.

good as GF3 Ti, and better 2D.

but if your gonna use your PC as a playstation alternative, then go for GF4, or wait a bit and go for Radeon 9700.

Be nice.

IF you know for SURE that the R8500LE OEM is clocked @ 250/250, then go for the R8500LE, it's faster, better AF, and better 2D.

The gf3ti200 can overclock to ti500 speeds, dont use overclocking potential alone to decide between 2 cards.

You should get a ti4200 for 130 and call it a day imo.

Yeah, IMO that would be a good way to go, but if he doesn't have the dough for that card, then I'd say get the R8500 OEM. BTW, look at newegg.com. Seems like one of the R8500LE OEM cards is actually a R8500 OEM w/ 3.3ns RAM. Phssptok has one IIRC.
