No icon when windows mail installed

I installed windows mail and am using win 7,however there is no desktop icon. I can access the mail programe through search and it seems to work OK

Create your own shortcut on the desktop.

Windows Mail or Live Mail? If Windows Mail, I would suggest going to Windows Updates and downloading Windows Live Mail. Its much better and free and will automatically import anything from Windows Mail.

if you have Windows Live mail then go to Start>All programs and look for the Windows Live folder. Open it nd find the Live Mail program, right click on it and tell it to send to desktop. You can even pin it to your start bar.

Thanks for the note. Itried to create an icon but it would not do it. Igave up and when I re started the next AM it created an icon....Len
