To wait Or not to wait?

After destroying accidentally my older graphics card [gf2 mx] spilling alluminum silicon between the chipset pins [dum heh?] I decided to buy the nvidia gf 4400.Then I found out that in winter 2002 nvidia is going to release their newer chipset, with better performance right? So the question is, should i buy now the 4400 or wait till the newer chipset will be released?Thanks in advance
