Found Goreriders, what now? :)

Yesterday my MF Necro found a pair of unique War Boots: Gore Rider.

Sweet, never found 'em before.

I usually use 'nice finds' to gain some inspiration for a new character,
so what's the most common use of Gore Riders?

Zeal Paladin? Smiter? Barb? Druid?

(I am working on an IK Barb, but if I wear the full IK set, that should
include the boots... Hmmm..)

Regards,

Patrick.

Upgraded Gore Riders are about the best boots for a Kicksin. But any
other melee char will love them too.

Hmmm, that doesn't really help. :)

Perhaps I'll indeed let the IK Barb remain a (planned) IK Barb and maybe
remake (and improve) my SP Zealadin...

Patrick.

Well, I think I have at the very least a pair of Thunderstrokes stored
away, so that'd maybe cover the weapon of a Javazon.

Can a javazon solo the game?

Patrick.

Or a bowazon. Mine is wearing them.

No idea. My bowazon is currently in Act3 hell, see sig below about her.

Well, the idea is tempting. Either way. Since I never played any variant
of Javazon. A Zealadin is of course also nice, but I already did that in
SP before I moved to B.Net.

Seen. What equipment does she use? I have some semi-nice bows stowed away
(not of the Windforce class, of course, but nice, I think), but I'd have
to look through the mules, again, to see what exactly is needed.

Anyhow, judging by the responses up till now, about any character dealing
some kind of physical damage, personally, will be quite happy with 'em.
:)

I mean, it's not an item like a HoZ, which would directly point you
towards building a Paladin, or even a more specific item like a +3 traps
+100 life circlet, which only permits one specific build... So I'll have
to think about it.

Hmmm, too bad I can wear the IK Boots (lvl 25) before the Gore Rider
(lvl47), but maybe he'd be helped by them before I can equip the entire
IK set (lvl 76)...

Regards,

Patrick.

I already told in former postings that she is using Mavinas Caster as
her main bow (as long as she can strife, ie her mana bowl isn't empty),
and Blood Ravens Charge on switch, if no man is left (because a mana
drain boss minion hit her, oer there are way too many beasts there), and
in a few cases to get PI monsters down.

Her armour is a Gloom dusk shroud, the headgear a rare +2 skills tiara.
She wears a resist all ring and Natures Peace, because of the nasty
shamen. The belt is Mavinas Tenet, for mana leech (couldn't ever find a
dual leech ring). Her gloves are currently crafted Vampirebone gloves
with +2 on bow/crossbow skills. She had used a +2 passive/magic pair
before, but even now her maxed valk is way more tough than her merc, and
rarely dies, except from losing contact. Poison might poise a problem,
though (pun intended). Her ammy is a crafted +1 amazon skills with
various resists. Although I have a high necro, I haven't managed to
craft any +2 amulets yet.

Still she is doing quite well, as long as I manage to keep the monsters
at a distance. Problem is, there are some, who love to charge her, no
matter how many valks, mercs and decoys I put into their way. While she
can survive in open areas, it is getting tough in narrow passageways
like those in the flayer dungeon, where she got stuck between those dang
gloombats (they can cross water and thus trap her from both sides). She
died twice to that.

Well, I browsed around a bit on my mules, and found a few Cliffkillers,
at least one Goldstrike arch, a Lycander's aim, and some other stuff.
Would any of this be an improvement over what you're using here, and/or
is there any other bow you'd like to use instead of what you listed here?

Nice setup. As for the crafting, what level is the necro then? Crafting
is tricky in that the ilvl of the amulet should become >= 90 for +2
skills, but when you gamble an amulet, it's ilvl could be anything
between -5 and +5 (or something) of the character's clvl...

I have some small experience with a bow, because my SP Zealadin carried
an upgrade Buriza on weapon switch, for those tough monsters he didn't
dare to stand toe-to-toe with, but the results were mixed at best,
especially when I upgraded from 1.09 to 1.10.

Patrick.

Most of them I can't say anything about (wow, was that a Yoda sentence),
as I don't have them. The Cliffkiller isn't bad at lower levels, but I
ditched it, as the hell difficulty spawns monsters with lots of life,
and Cliffkiller takes too much time to bring them down. Before
Cliffkiller, I had used Skystrike. The Meteor is fun, but nearly always
comes too late.

My necro is lvl 89 (see sig), and after gambling, ATMA tells me, if I
have an amulet with 90+; but I still haven't been lucky, even with a
lvl93 ammy. According to the calculations here, it should finally
happen, but until now, it failed. There are probably too many mods which
might be on the ammy, that it would produce a +2 all skills so soon.

Well, it seems I at the very least have some usefull mid-game weapons
then, and should maybe be on the lookout for a nice end-game bow...

Strange. Maybe the odds in SP are different, but it's quite regularly that
I craft a +2 skills/skilltree amulet. However, most of the time the
secondary mods are not good enough to keep it, so I sell them...

Well, it's all a matter of luck. ;)

Patrick.
